Erika Johnson, a Seattle native, led the 2010-2011 Holy Names Academy team to a 29-0 record and a 2011 Washington State Championship. Her 71 rebounds in the state tournament set the state's single-season postseason record. She was twice named first team all-state, 2010 Metro League Player of the Year, 2011 Gatorade Washington State Player of the Year and 2011 Parade Magazine Girls Basketball High School All-American. Erika was ranked as the country's No. 21 recruit by HoopGurlz, and was considered the No. 3 wing in the class, she also played in the 2011 FILA All-Star Competition. Erika continued her career at the University of California Berkeley in 2011 and later transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. At UNC, she had one Elite 8 and two Sweet 16 appearances. She was on the ACC Academic Honor Roll, Dean’s List, and earned the Athletic Director Scholar Athlete Award two years in a row. Erika graduated in 2016 with a B.A. in Exercise & Sport Science and a B.F.A. in Studio Art.
Following graduation, Erika interned with the Seattle Storm under the Director of Basketball Operations and Video Coordinator. Subsequently, she spent some time in marketing for Watts Basketball and Michael T White/ASGR AAU Basketball Tournaments.
Most recently, Erika was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Garfield High School and took 2nd place in the 2018 Washington State Championship. She also plays for the Washington Athletic Club, travelling regionally and nationally for tournaments. Currently, Erika works in Commercial Real Estate and Development in Seattle, and is the Assistant Basketball Coach at Holy Names Academy.
