Jocelyn Jones


Jocelyn was a four-year varsity basketball player at Franklin High School. She went on to play for Yakima Valley Community College, placing 2nd in the NWAAC and receiving recognition as a first team NWACC Western Region Conference All Star.  She then went on to play on scholarship for Vancouver Island University, where she received the VIU International Student-Athlete scholarship and was a PacWest Provincial Silver Medalist, as well as Nanaimo Player of the Year, PACWEST Gold Medalist, CCAA Nationals 5th place, CCAA All-Star at Nationals, CCAA All Canadian, PACWEST MVP at Provincials, CCAA Player of the Month, VIU Athlete of the Year, Basketball BC Hall of Fame, PacWest College Female Athlete of the Year, PACWEST League MVP, PACWEST Provincial Bronze Medalist, and CCAA All Canadian.


After graduating in 2014, Jocelyn has worked as the head coach for girls basketball at Washington Middle School and as assistant coach at Liberty High School and Franklin High School.


Jocelyn prides herself on building a program that mentors and moves players on to the next level. She is excited to be working with Local Hoops, where her goal is to build winning teams and players with strong character by developing systems to accommodate players’ strengths while ensuring their focus on fundamentals and academics.
